A quick update from the SinglesofFaith.com affiliate program.

Conversions from visitor to paid member are doing really well right now, running at  just under 5% with an EPC of just under $50 over the last week.  If you have Christian traffic, and specifically, a lot of single Christian traffic, you should be working with this program.  Why?  Two reasons:

1. As affiliate marketers, the initial reason is obvious - it’s paying nice commissions.  Your average payout on a sale is just under $10 and you can quickly ramp up with 10 sales or more.
2. If you take the Christian nature of your site seriously, this is a legitimate and Gospel advancing offer to promote.   You can feel safe at knowing that you are sending your traffic to an offer that is committed to Kingdom building causes and who’s proceeds go directly to inner city ministry in cities across the US.

We’re also uploading a couple of new sets of creative in the next couple of days including some “text only” banners that are fun and eye catching and 70’s retro.

I just received a release from the folks at PepperJam Network (www.pepperjamnetwork.com) announcing the launch of ChristianCafe’s offer on their network.

ChristianCafe now sports a CJ program, SAS program and an internal affiliate program as well as the occassional lead based program on the CPA Networks.

The ChristianCafe program on PJN is paying a 40% commission on the initial sign up as well as any future rebills and leads with a 10 day free trial offer.

The PepperJam Network was launched a bit before Affiliate Summit West and claims enhanced affiliate transparency and improved affiliate communications including live chat.

ChristianCafe is one of the “good guys” in Christian dating as they are actually Christian owned and operated.   If you are looking for an alternative to your current affiliate network and would like to work with a legit Christian dating site, this is one to check out.

I just received a press release from Mike McCartney from SinglesofFaith.com

PHOENIX - Dec. 7, 2007 - Since January 2007, Mike McCartney has traveled the country pursuing a very unusual goal - eliminating datelessness among single U.S. Christians. At first glance, McCartney’s motives might seem obvious - he is the founder of SinglesofFaith.com, one of the top Christian singles’ online introduction services in the world.

But far less obvious are McCartney’s methods. Rather than relying on personality profiles, photos or even compatibility tests, (though those are in place,) he would rather forge “love connections” between singles carrying shovels…or paint brushes…or ladles of soup and plates of food.

On Feb. 23, for example, McCartney is encouraging Nevada singles to take a different approach to meeting that special someone. Rather than dressing up for a night on the town, McCartney wants singles to put on some jeans and become part of an eager and ready labor supply during SingesofFaith.com’s first Las Vegas Workday.

Work groups will gather and head into Las Vegas’ most at-risk neighborhoods to help existing inner-city ministries and service organizations:

• Feed the hungry
• Distribute clothing to the homeless
• Visit hospitals, rest homes and shut-ins
• Tutor children and the illiterate
• Serve the elderly and disabled with home-based services
• Provide other acts of service to communities in need

McCartney said the vision for creating a special day of service for Christian singles in every state came after he pondered the question:

“If Jesus flew into our local airport and had an eight-hour layover before His next departing flight, what would He do with those eight hours?”

Based on his study of the New Testament, McCartney concluded that after ministering to needy individuals within the airport, Jesus would most likely travel to the city’s more at-risk neighborhoods to feed the hungry, clothe the homeless, heal the sick and comfort the hurting.

To date, that vision has driven McCartney to host eight SinglesofFaith.com Workdays in both major metropolises (Phoenix and Minneapolis) and smaller cities (Ames, Iowa; Fort Collins, Colo; Sioux Falls, SD.) His ultimate goal is to mobilize a “Domestic Peace Corps” on the third Saturday of each month in the 218 largest US cities.

I’ll be there in jeans and work gloves and we’d love to see you there as well to help out. If you’re coming to Summit, come out a day early and stand along side the members of SinglesofFaith.com and serve your fellow man like Christ did. The timeline is from 1-5 PM on Saturday the 23 of February (the day before Affiliate Summit) and the location will be announced.

SinglesofFaith is a Christian-owned and operated “dating site” with a twist that makes it really interesting to me as a Christian. There are a ton of “Christian niche” dating sites out there, some legitimate and many of them not. What interested me in working with SinglesofFaith in the first place was the approach that they take to Christian dating, and what they do with the money that the dating site generates.

I spoke about this a bit with Mike McCartney, the founder of SinglesofFaith.

What we hear from our members is that our ministry is qualitatively different than any other “dating site” (if that’s the category you want to put us in.)

1. We are clearly not in this to transfer money from member bank accounts into our accounts (as illustrated by our dramatically lower fees). We sense this is HIS capital, and the way HE’D use it is by reinvesting it in Kingdom expansion and growth. We will have to answer to Him for that. So we must do the same.

2. Every ounce of our site makes it clear that we are for emotionally healthy, relationship-ready single Christians. We do not just throw “christian-ese” around secular programming, nor do we carry the “singles-ey” look and feel. With decades of ministry experience (married, then single adult ministry) under our belts prior moving to the Internet, we are thinking Kingdom priorities first, relationship priorities second.

What really makes SinglesofFaith (SOF) unique is this: They put their members’ money to work for the Kingdom by using it to fund Work Parties around the country. At these events, SOF members from the local area are invited to serve others as Christ did and:

• Feed the hungry
• Distribute clothing to the homeless
• Visit hospitals, rest homes and shut-ins
• Tutor children and the illiterate
• Serve the elderly and disabled with home-based services

And to provide other services to communities and people in need.

I don’t know of any other “Christian Dating” sites out there that put the rubber to the road like this and look not just to make connections of “equally yoked” singles, but to help them grow in Christ through service, and to do it by serving others as Christ did.

I asked Mike to sum up what makes SinglesofFaith unique and he reflected.

I sense that, as God ponders the 105,000,000 single adults in the U.S. (now MORE than the 104,000,000 married adults in the U.S.,) He sees BEYOND the dating and relationship potential and sees a twofold (or more) Kingdom potential:

(1) the potential to bring abundant life to us millions, plus

(2) the potential to bring Kingdom (abundant) life to the millions MORE who can be served BY us single millions. I genuinely believe a tremendous potential exists for His glory if He can ignite our heartstrings such that we follow Him to our knees in servanthood exactly like He did when He visited this planet. Millions and millions of lives can be impacted for Him.

As God unveiled that perpective in the earliest launch phases of SinglesOfFaith.Com, I began to realize that we are not “merely” in a relationship ministry, but in a KINGDOM ministry. And that touches me deeply and excites me daily. How many of us, honestly, get to serve Him full time for the next fifty years?

I’m really excited to help Mike achieve his goal of growing the SinglesofFaith member base from 80,000 users to 1,000,000 + in 2008 and I think that affiliate marketing can be instrumental in this. If you are interested in helping out in this effort, we’d love to have you!
